Soloist Showcase

1:00 pm

What is it?

The Juried Performance is composed of two events. The first event is a performance in front of the faculty jury panel, which involves all players, and the second is the Soloist Showcase in which selected players perform at the final concert of the festival. Both events take place at Emerge Gallery & Art Center.

The Juried Performance is not a competition. There are no rankings or prizes. All participants receive detailed written feedback from the jury panel to facilitate their continued growth. The panel will select soloists to perform their pieces at the final concert of the festival, which is Sunday, August 3 at 3:30 pm.

To play in the Juried Performance, participants select this option in the festival registration form.

Choose a Set Piece

In order to include more participants, three set pieces of varying levels of difficulty are provided. The scores for all three set pieces are available on our website and will also be emailed to Juried Performance participants in advance of the festival. Participants choose the piece from this set that best matches their current abilities:

  • Etude No. 2, Planting in the Sun by Kate Oliphant

  • La Prima Donna Waltz arranged by Justin Holland

  • Six Preludes for Guitar, No. 2 by Emilia Giuliani-Gugliemi
